So 7/9 marks the one-year anniversary of the day I decided that, given the comic book market, that my graphic novel “The Elevator” would work out much better as an urban fantasy novel…and, man, I gotta admit it feels weird thinking of this as a comic book!! The novel is so, so much better!!!

In one year, I was able to start and finish the first book in the series at 104,000 words, then start the sequel. I’m nearing 30,000 words on that (okay, to be fair, I’m at 27,000 right now) and I hope to have it finished by the end of the year.

Wow!! 1 1/4 books done in one year!! Now, I’ll always be the first one to beat myself up for not getting more writing done…but that’s not half-bad!!

And really, the best accomplishment is how far I’ve come in the way I’ve pictured Elevator. Seriously, the characters, the storyline, the emotional depth, everything has become much more intense, dramatic and FUN! I so dearly adore this story of mine and thinking back on how far I’d come is a treat!
